Power of Spoken Words

In my little sojourn here on earth, I have seen mysteries happen because of what someone has spoken and which has made me to come to the conclusion that there is power in spoken words.I have read of men and women of faith who spoke and literally brought down their mountains.

Take for example the case of the survivor of the Ebola virus from first consultant , she kept on speaking positive  words over her dead situation and she came out alive from the Isolation Camp. The good book says death and life is in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18 verse 26).

What are you saying? Joyce Meyer wrote in one of her books I read that we need to practice mindful eating that is minding what we put in our mouth even going as far as writing down what we put in our mouth. I want to encourage us that the same way we practice mindful eating we also need to practice mindful speaking, permit me to use that phrase.

The mind is a battle field we are told and so what we feed our minds on will determine what comes out of our mouth. Feed your mind with powerful words from the Scriptures; think good thoughts concerning yourself and it will grow. Meditate on the word of God and it will overflow into your speech.

There is this African American who refused to see her job as being mediocre and she said there are no menial jobs only menial people. No matter your situation you need to speak life into it.

If you want to know where you will be in the next five years, check the book you are reading and the friends you are keeping and I would like to add check the words you are speaking.

Where you are is as a result of the words you have spoken in the past. Your words either make you or break you.

Apostle Paul wrote “ Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouth but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen”. Shalom.
